Everything About Epaderm Ointment and its Benefits

Epaderm Ointment is a 3-in-1 emollient for managing dry skin conditions and certainly psoriasis and eczema.

The Epaderm formula offers three aspects of a complete emollient treatment in one – it can be used multiple times on the skin, as a shower additive or as a skin cleanser. Ointments are highly effective on dry skin when used at night for long-lasting hydration.

Epaderm ointment does not contain any fragrances, additives or colorants. It can be used on dry skin conditions and is suitable for all ages including children.

How Does Epaderm Ointment Work?

Epaderm Ointment is an emollient specially developed by dermatologists for those with dry skin problems.

It offers three aspects of a complete emollient treatment in one, which can be used as a skin cleanser or as a bath additive. Epaderm ointment creates a barrier that helps retain moisture within the skin. It is multi-use.

Using Epaderm As a Skin Cleanser

When caring for dry skin conditions, it is essential to ensure that moisturizing is done wherever possible.

However, it is equally important that no soap or products containing detergents are used as they will increase water loss from the skin.

You can use Epaderm ointment as a skin cleanser but make sure to wash the skin and dry skin well, it can deal with the damage caused by the use of common soap.

It helps soothe the skin. You can use emollients as much as you need because they are not stimulants. When the skin improves, it is recommended to use it frequently to maintain the result.

Using Epaderm ointment as a skin cleanser ensures dry skin can be washed off properly, without losing more moisture or having to deal with common soap issues additives may produce.

Scoop a small amount into the sink, lather under warm water and then use it as regular soap.

Using Epaderm in The Bathroom

Soaking the skin in an emollient, for optimal treatment, is another major step of a complete emollient treatment.

As Epaderm ointment does not contain fragrances, colorants, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) or additives, baths can be taken as often as required.

Take 4 grams from the tub. Dissolve this in a hot cup of water, making sure it’s cool enough before adding it to a bath.

Care must be taken, when using Epaderm ointment as a bath additive, as it will make the bath surface slippery.
